Having felt on both sides of the door channel place too much drag on the lock.

It took considerable effort to move the lock by hand, and the power lock motors would only budge the lock by a mm or two, so you would have to hit the lock switch several times to lock or unlock.

Removing one piece of felt stopped the drag, but kept the noise down by keeping the lock post from rattling side to side.
